I’ve played a fairly broad spectrum of games over the years so this one was pretty hard for me to pin down.
Here’s a link back to the master list of questions and blog links: 30 Day Video Game Challenge
Day 14 – What game made you feel like you were playing a genre for the first time?
Medal of Honor Frontline – PS2
After thinking about it a while, I realised this game was probably the first “First-Person Shooter” I’ve ever played. It was the first game I’d seen with the concept of achievements or “medals” in game. This meant I spent a fair bit of time replaying missions to try and get all the medals.
I don’t really enjoy shooters like Call of Duty or Battlefield that much these days, but I did dabble in a few of them in my teenage years. From what I remember they were kinda repetitive but somewhat fun, and I always played these kinds of games for the story rather than the joy of slaughtering digital people.
Can you guys remember any first-time experiences with games like this? Let me know in the comments, cheers for reading!
