VGC Day 1: What Was Your First Video Game?

Hey guys, so I was taking a look around the old WordPress Reader the other day and I decided to have a lil’ peek around Megan’s slice of the internet at A Geeky Gal. I saw a while back she did this challenge and thought I’d give it a go. I certainly have a few games to talk about! (If you’re reading this Megan I adore your work!)

If anybody else wants to join me in this month-long challenge please feel free to do so!

Here’s a link back to the master list of questions and blog links: 30 Day Video Game Challenge

Right, let’s jump straight into the first question!

Day 1 – What was your first Video Game?

My lord I had to have a long hard think about my answer for this. I know for sure it’s a PS1 title, and while I’m not sure this was my actual first game, I have the most vivid memories of it. I remember all the levels so well. From the dinosaur levels to the space races! I must have been about maybe 9 or 10 when my dad got a PS1 and I remember getting this as well as Gex.

Many a childhood hour was spent trying to beat these games. Interesting in retrospect how many of my early games were platformers. But then again most early PS1 titles were platformers. I remember getting home from school and my dad had prepared lists of cheat codes and walkthroughs so we could sit and play together. Ah, childhood memories!

Anywho, that’s my first entry in the challenge! Again, feel free to play along! Cheers for reading!
